Many years since I done a border run so I would appreciate any advice. I will go to ban laem soon to get another 30 days (Cambodia) questions are : should I get a e visa? I don't want to spend a night in Cambodia I want to come back. So on e visa application what do I put for name of accommodation? How many days? Or should I just go without a e visa? How much should I expect to pay if I go without e visa and want to come straight back to Thailand? Thanks for any help

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning a border run to Cambodia to extend their stay in Thailand and inquires about the necessity of an e-visa. They are unsure about the accommodation details required for the e-visa application and are looking for suggestions about the visa process and associated costs for a quick return to Thailand. Comments suggest using a visa run company for convenience and note the potential pitfalls of hiring a fixer.

A fixer is basically a bribe. You pay him some money for the peace of mind of not getting quizzed.

No idea, but I would expect around 300 baht. I'm sure some people here would know.

Cambodia side you don't have to worry.

You don't need anybody "fixing" anything for you. They will tell you how much you need to pay. Probably about 1500b if want to leave the same day.

It's the thai side you need to worry about.

Why worry about the thai side?

Because they refuse entrance sometimes

I appreciate your comment but why would they refuse entry?

Thai side usually don't like it at all when people come back to early. Especially Poipet

I would just go w a visa run company and let them take care of everything.

I used the one leaving from Onnut Tesco lotus parking lot and were very reliable.

I am doing the same trip on Sunday, there are fixer at the Thai border who handle the bounce In/Out.

If ur talking about an exit form thailand and return 10 minutes later, Cambodian officials will hit ya for 300-500 baht depending on the border>

PLUS the cost of the Cambodian visa ( $30 or 1,200-1,500 baht)

Dont need a "fixer"

correct, but for me don’t mind to pay the fixer and avoid the hustle.

Thai/Cambodian guys who cross the border with you and do the talk somehow to officers. 3 weeks ago I was there and got approached by this guy, at that time my visa still valid for another 3 weeks so didn’t bother to do it. I spoke to the guy this morning and he told me it will take 30 mn, you have to pay 1800 baht for Cambodian stamp and pay the guy some money. Hope that help.

The Cambodia visa on arrival is 1200bt, depending where you cross you might get hit with a 300bt 'leaving fee'

Same as that. I've never paid in USD. Cambodia happily accepts Thai Baht, as does Laos.
