TLDR : Answer Summary
For a 54-year-old Swedish citizen needing to stay in Thailand for at least 30 days, options include the Elite visa for Bt500,000 and the type OA retirement visa which requires Bt800,000 in a bank account, health insurance, and other documentation. A 60-day Tourist Visa is also available but may depend on recent changes in the risk status for Sweden. Several commenters note the complexity and requirements of these visas, especially considering quarantine and COVID-19 testing.

Hi Ben, If you cant get them via phone, lets try their fb page and msg them ask what you want to know, they’ll reply bcos i did the same but in Bern RTE fb page and they replied me so quick, btw ask them if you like to chat via phone what exactly number tht u can call.
No easy nor cheap options. I think OA Visa if you have THB 800,000 but you will need general insurance of THB 400,000 hospitalization and THB 40,000 for out patient PLUS USD 100,000 COVID insurance plus hotel quarantine and negative COVID test within 72 hours and a police clearance and fit to fly
A oa Visa does not have to have 800,000 bhat, that is the o x Visa you have to have 65,000 a month .. At least that's what the US requirements states.. We had 8.3 million bhat a Year and could still not get a visa at this time
At the moment you can get a 60-day Tourist Visa from RTE Stockholm. You need to have had at least
*****
0 SEK in your bank account for the last 6 months.
BE AWARE though that this is only available to countries on the Thailand ‘low risk’ list and Sweden is currently 27th out of 30th. That ranking could change at the end of the month and then the visa would not be available.
The easiest at the moment is an Elite visa, at bt500,000, but what you most likely need is a type OA retirement visa. You'll need bt800,000 in the bank, health insurance that covers at least US$400,000 of inpatient care, and at least US$100,000 of covid-19 coverage. A police background check, and then a booked quarantine hotel to get your certificate of entry from the Thai embassy, oh, and a flight booked. The type OA retirement visa will give you one year, and the Elite visa will give you five years.

David Broadfoot, as of three years ago "a combination of both" is no longer allowed. It has to be either bt65,000+ coming in each and every month, no exceptions, or bt800,000 in the bank. There is no longer the "combination of both" option
, without at least bt65,000 a month coming in, then you can use the bt800,000 lump sum in your bank account option, but the account must be only in your name. Joint accounts are not accepted. This lump sum has to be in the bank for at least 5months total, two months before you first apply, and three months every year after that, and you must keep at least bt400,000 in the account for the full year.
