TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the necessity of an eVisa for crossing the Thai-Myanmar border from Ranong for both a same-day visit and an overnight stay in Kawthoung. Community members suggest that a visa is not required for a day trip if crossing back the same day, but for a longer stay, verifying visa requirements beforehand is advisable. One comment also mentions an alternative route for the border run that includes additional amenities.

Alternatively, you can go over to the Andaman Club. It's 900 baht return speedboat, visa fees and processing included (so you don't need to worry about having a mint condition US note).

Plus it's got a nice pool, cheap Myanmar lager and a duty free shop. And a mini casino if you're that way inclined!

You don't need to make a evisa, border run is fine, can stay a few days if u want too but cannot leave the province I think.
