Answer summary
A traveler plans to visit Thailand from June 9th to July 20th, 2026, and seeks clarification on current visa regulations. Responses indicate that the Thailand government is in the process of changing visa rules, potentially reducing the visa exemption period from 60 days to 30 days. If this change is published in the official gazette before the traveler arrives, there are options available, including purchasing a 30-day extension for 1,900 baht at an immigration office. Travelers are advised to keep an eye on official updates and have a backup plan for visa requirements.

As has been highlighted, it has yet to be published in the “OFFICIAL GAZETTE”, after that there will be a grace period, so you should be ok, but as has been suggested, heres a plan “B” back up plan, Should you need it, one can purchase a 30 day visa extension at a province’s immigration office for 1900 baht, so please rest assured, you’ll have no problems at all !!
At the moment, the return to 30 days has been approved by Cabinet/Government. The visa exempt 60-days will change, after it is signed off by His Majesty and it is published in the official Gazatte. Just keep reularly checking the online Thailand newspapers and also have a "Plan B" in case of a sudden 30-days shift occurs, with little notice. After 29 years in Thailand, I have learnt to always have a Plan B for the unexpected circumstances.
You'll be stamped in for 60 days. The visa exempt changes have yet to be officially published and when they are published they won't come into effect for a further 15 days
