Hello we need advice 🙏

We travel to Thailand from 2 march 2023 until 29 April 2023, total of 58 days.

We also go to Vietnam from 8 march 2023 until 21 march 2023, total of 14 days.

So my question is will i be cleared immigration at Bangkok airport and get a visa for 30 days, or do need to apply for a tourist visa for 60 days?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about their visa eligibility upon arrival in Thailand after a trip to Vietnam. They have travel plans that include a stay in Thailand for 58 days, where they wonder if they will get a 30-day visa on entry or need to apply for a 60-day tourist visa. Comments suggest that if the user is from a visa-exempt country, they could receive 45 days upon arrival, potentially with an extension option, which may eliminate the need for a tourist visa.

You don't need a visa if you are visa exempt, as you will leave the country after a week or 2, then only be in country the 2nd time for less than the 45 days again. (I believe the 45 day exemption ends on March 31st. If not, you can still get the 30 day extension.)

So you will get 45 days when you land, when you leave and re enter Thailand you will receive a new 45 day stamp. If needed you can go to immigration before it runs out and extend it by 30 days. (this is assuming you are from a visa exempt country)

Re entry issues you may see asked often in this group concern long stay people who take advantage of tourist visas and border runs to live in Thailand long term. If you're here less than 6 months it's unlikely to be an issue.

hi sorry does that mean ,when your booking your return flight if your staying 4 months ,you have to book your return ticket within 45 days of the first visa ,and then change your return ticket to a later date ,I'm wondering can I do this

technically you need a ticket leaving the country within the first 45 days. Immigration are unlikely to check, but your airline might.

When we go back to Thailand after Vietnam, we get a visa exemption for 30 days + 30 days at immigration office. If we want to stay longer can we do a visa run to Laos? Or is this only possible when you have a tourist visa for 60 days?

you can do a visa run to Laos. Whether you’ll get 30 or 45 days will depend on if they actually change it back at the end of March. We’ll have to wait and see.

Tourist visa 60 days is single entry so I wouldn’t do that, until May you get 45 days visa exempt so you should be fine.

I’m going on the assumption you come from a country that is visa exempt, your name sounds Dutch 😉)
