My dtv got rejected.

No idea why..

anyone here was able to get it on his second time?

My only other option is elite visa which feels like too expensive for no real reason.

If they didn’t give you the reason in the rejection email you have to go to the embassy where you applied and ask why and they’ll tell you the exact reason

Make sure you double check the dates. Outside of the US it’s typically DD/MM/YY vs MM/DD/YY like in the west.

Apply in Hanoi Vietnam. Do not use agency. Use ChatGPT to check you have the required information. Precisely and easy to read. I would recommend applying under soft power but if your documents are correct remote work will be fine.

People get approved frequently 2nd time around and even on the 3rd time. Many say they have everything needed which they probably do but there is something for sure in breach of DTV approval criteria. Rejections are not given for flawless applications. Triple check and get other opinions on your submission.

Many many many people reapply and get approved. But you better be able to narrow down where your weakness was.

no weakness haha that’s the thing.

I got it all.

My company

Money in the bank..

All the stamps in my passport showing I’m traveling a lot and honestly no idea why they rejected me :)

I will try with some agency because it’s worth the shot.

Thanks 🙏

did you show an employment contract with your company explaining that you work remotely and that you are specifically allowed to work in Thailand? As well It should also mention that you will have no business interaction with Thai entities or persons.

how is that possible if you submitted your DTV application and got rejected? The portfolio submission is a part of the application process

You say you never got to this point and you also say you had a strong application. How can you have a strong application if you don't supply all the documents that is ordinarily necessary? I mean you could wait forever for document requests or you could supply the whole kit and caboodle right from the get-go.

what did you include on your portfolio? Proof of clients and income? Proof that your customers are from non-thailand clients?

obviously there is some weakness, even the Thai immigration doesn't just reject on a whim. If they miss some detail they ask for more and if there's an input error it's a cancellation not a rejection. Strongly suggest cutting back on your presumption that everything is correct and double checking with an agent at this point.

Far greater success rates applying from your home country and far fewer document requirements.

SL was on my short list to do the application but i decided against it based on my previous experience trying to get a tourist visa there and their unwillingness to reply to my emails or answer the phone.

You gotta understand that when dealing with countries like SL and India that the list of documents required for a simple visa is mind blowing. They want stuff from you that you cannot possibly have as you are not a citizen of these countries.

India is also the same, one of the Thai consulates there told me on the phone that they would not process my application because I was not from that city, I explained that I was a tourist and that I would be visiting the city for 2 weeks but the Indian guy on the phone didn't care.

Best to stick with somewhere closer to Thailand imo.
