Should I reapply for DTVSIA in Jakarta, Indonesia, after being rejected in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam? How long should I wait before reapplying? I don’t know the exact reason for the rejection, but I suspect it may have been due to missing documents. I want to prepare everything properly and try again.

Has anyone been approved at age 21 as a freelance software developer? I think they may not have trusted my income source.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering reapplying for the DTVSIA visa in Jakarta after being rejected in Ho Chi Minh City, suspecting that the rejection was due to missing documentation and potential issues with income verification. The conversation includes experiences from others about reapplying successfully, the challenges faced with various embassies, and the documentation that may be required when applying again, emphasizing the importance of understanding each embassy's specific requirements.

You should read earlier post about the specific Embassies in consideration, you will find those questions has been answered numerous times.

Most Embassies very strongly mention on their website, that no reason will be given if rejected.

If the reason was missing documents, they would have asked you to supply those documents.

Income is not a required part, the 500.000 bank deposit is.

Thanks, you're right. I know they don't give reasons, which is why I want to get it right the second time.

I'm just trying to figure out the best approach now. For instance, should I wait a few months, or is it worth trying a different embassy? It's confusing because my friend's application (same situation) went through so fast, and I'm wondering what the trick is.

Wow I don't understand why fod me was so easy and fast and I see many having problems..I thought it was easy to get one because for me was insane easy and fast

workcation. Heard the rejected applicants rate is roughly around 60% lately in HCM I read on Reddit thread.

I might try again after 3-4 months (soft power maybe better) but in another embassy. who knows since no reason was provided and I'm only concerned if they flagged the rejected applicants in the system after all.
Andi ***********
Anonymous participant 175 That does not seem to be the rate in this forum. Were you asked to submit extra docs? No you are not flagged, some reapply very soon and approved. How long did it take before they sent rejection notice? If you do SP make sure you have at least 6-9 months of a course.

Other request documents: Provide your most recent project, along with a brief caption and related pictures.

Anonymous participant 175Same here! They asked me for the exact same documents, too.
Andi ***********
Anonymous participant Are you also 20 -21?
Anonymous ******************
@Andi **********
I was requested two times to submit more docs. Took about a week for those requests to come back into my mail.

Then it was rejected within 20 hours after my last doc submission. Not even a single day 😢 it took to send the rejection email.

Did they even review at all... more wonders.

Anonymous participant 175 What was the last doc submission? Your passport is from ?
Anonymous ******************
@Andi **********
Sadly my country is one bordering Thailand, the country with civil war I hope you can guess. Myanmar.

My last docs were answers to those and I was legit with my docs and I explained and thoroughly described my job journey with my salary growth over the time.

Anonymous participant 175 same here I'm also Myanmar.
Andi ***********
Anonymous participant 175 Ok, that could play a part in the decision and why they asked you irrelevant questions. Anyway, reapply elsewhere. I miss the Garlic Noodles in Myanmar, very tasty.

Anonymous participant 175 Did you apply for Softpower or Workcation ?

If they don't trust your income source then unlikely Jakarta won't. What is the issue with your income source? 🤔

I’m not entirely sure why I was rejected — I just assumed it was because they asked for details about my journey entering the market, my salary history, and the steps I took during negotiations to reach my current salary. I also uploaded everything they requested, including client invoices and payslips, but I was still rejected.
Anonymous ******************
Anonymous participant you need to highlight your income proof on your bank statement

Anonymous participant 310 Yes, absolutely. I made sure to carefully highlight every income entry on my bank statements but got rejected

Anonymous participant Strange questions. As though some low level local hire at an Embassy would know anything about how salaries are negotiated or the going rates :-) "-)
Andi ***********
Anonymous participant ok, strange question to ask about salary negotiations. As Greg said check thru Jakarta posts and apply accordingly. You not the first to be rejected and then succeed 2nd time around
