What should I do after my Thai DTV visa application was rejected without a reason?

Hi everyone,

I came to Vietnam to apply for the DTV through the Muay Thai (Soft Power) option. I applied with an agency and we completed all documents fully and correctly.

A few days after submission, my application received pre-approval. However, on December 27, I suddenly received an email saying that my visa was rejected. Unfortunately, no reason was provided, and even the agency is unsure why it was refused.

Now I’m quite confused and honestly a bit demoralized.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Do you know how soon I can reapply after a rejection?

Is it possible to resubmit or amend a rejected application, or do I need to start a completely new one?

Any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience about having their Thai DTV visa application rejected even after pre-approval. They sought advice on reapplying and whether they can amend their rejected application. Respondents clarified that once a visa is rejected, the application cannot be amended and a new application must be submitted with an associated fee. They advised the user to check all submitted documents and to be cautious about relying entirely on their agency, as some agents may not fully understand the application process.

I applied for two DTV in Hanoi both approved for both people. Then I applied for another and had the same rejection.

All applications were done similarly

Only diffrence was the gym the applicant was attending and the country the applicant was from & the bank they used

I thought all 3 would be approved and I’m shocked

There is no such step as pre-approval in the DTV process. The first step is document check. An admin clerk checks you have attached the required documents , that they are readable and contain the necessary information. This person has no authority to approve or pre-approve your visa they are just checking there is nothing obvious missing. Once this is done your application is assigned to a consular officer, they look at the facts and decide to reject or approve your visa. I'd find a different agent if they told you you had pre-approval as they obviously do not know the process.

What do you mean by a “pre-approval”? That isn’t a term anyone else has used. Once rejected, that application is done. You have to apply again.

There is pending approval after document checks

One we submitted went to pending approval then it was rejected

The others were pending document check then approved

I think he means pending approval

Anonymous participant 418 pending approval is not the same as pre-approval. Very different concepts

Unfortunately if rejected

No reason given

You or your agency can't know

Unless you double check again each and every detail you have provided.

Be sure the length of the Softpower is enough to be accepted

Be sure your fund is clearly mentioned shown as closing balance

Some time some banks and some statements are a very confusing version and doesn't make the embassy understanding

Some embassies will ask you to clarify the balance number some won't

It is different from an embassy to another.

Yet unfortunately you can't amend the rejected one and have to re apply with new application and new fee

But before that.. do as we advise you above 🙏

not all true. Its all in the application and paperwork. Sounds like a sloppy agency to be fair. I dont know who. But sometimes application gets rushed

what we understand from him as he said ( we complete the documents fully and successfully)

We understand that he has an access to those documents

What we advise is to re check and double check again

what we said are some points not all points can leads to a reject

And we did not say we are true and we are not aiming to be the perfect.

What we answer is only based on our experience with 100s of applications

Thank you

How long was the Muay Thai course you signed up for?

Yes you can apply again but with a new application and fee. It would be best to try and find out why the prior application was rejected first though

You can apply anytime after the rejection. Unfortunately, it is a new application with a new fee. You cannot amend a rejected one
