What should I do after my DTV application was rejected?

My dtv got rejected I had all documents but I think they were funny about how long yhe 500k baht had been in my bank, but over the span of 3-6 I’ve had at least 1.5M baht through my account.

This was at Ho Chi Minh.

I’m going to Hanoi tomorrow to try again.

Any advice or is it not worth retrying

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user had their DTV visa application rejected despite having all required documents, suspecting issues with the source of funds in their bank account. Comments from the community suggest that rejections are common, often tied to not having the funds in a personal, non-investment account. Various recommendations include using a proper cover letter, trying application agencies, or considering applications in neighboring countries for potentially more favorable outcomes.

The actual number of rejected DTV applications is much higher than what people in this group have reported. Thailand makes a large profit just from collecting DTV fees — 10,000 Baht is equivalent to a month’s salary for many locals. Considering there may be around 500,000 applications per year with a 70% rejection rate, the total revenue is significant. This is probably one of the biggest business scam.

It seems that individuals are having issues when the

0 bhat is in anything other than must a savings or checking account. That it cannot be in any form of investment account or CD, etc. Also, that the money must be in your own account in your own country.

Just a thought could be using a Thai bank account has many people on DTV have been having issues with Thai banks

Due to tourist visa restrictions on having Thai bank

1.5M is irrelevant it’s just 500k and normal transactional activity for 3-6 months, they are probably tightening up on applications now. Could be something else, always screen shot every page before submitting and triple check all the info.

What did you apply for remote work or soft option?

What a surprise. We have a great crystal ball it seems. 😁

Why did you use a Thai Bank Account? You should use your normal bank account vs trying to arrange things in a certain way in order to get a Visa. It sort of looks suspicious.

where did you see he used a thai bank account?

I recommend Laos, Vientiane. They call for interview so if you have proper docs and can explain well, the chances are high.
