What could have caused my Thai visa application rejection in HCMC and how can I improve my next application in Laos?

Hi, my DTV application got rejected in HCMC yesterday. 5 working days, no additional documents asked.

I applied as Thai soft power, here are what I submitted:

1.Passport first page

2.Photo

3. Vietnam visa and stamp, Hotel confirmation, Boarding pass

4. Asset certificate for 1 year shows every month had more than 1M THB (under financial products category, not deposit), A copy of Chinese ID card(I thought only the ID number was needed, didn’t do the translation), Two motorcycle green book copies (I have tow motorcycles in Chiangmai)

5. Thai soft power 6 months course related documents.

And about the basic information I had put in, for the home address part, I thought they were asking for the address I am staying in Vietnam, so I wrote my hotel address and one more address in my country (China)

Now I want to try again in Laos, hope I can get some advice about what I did wrong.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user faced rejection for their DTV application in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) after submitting various documents as part of the Thai soft power program. The rejection could be attributed to issues with the asset certification, specifically that they provided financial products instead of accessible bank funds. Comments from the community suggest that the correct documentation should include only cash in a savings or checking account along with sufficient bank statements, typically showing regular income and meeting minimum balance requirements. The user is seeking advice on how to avoid similar issues for their next visa application attempt in Laos.

Could be the finance part. Everyone is correct expect you don't need 6 months to show. Only one month in a savings or checking account will do. That's all I provided

Anonymous participant I understand. It’s most unfair. Not stated as required on official Thai government DTV website. The embassy didn’t contact you to request you to provide it. They rejected your application without telling you why. Even now we are only guessing that was their reason. You could try contacting them and asking why? After that, the only available option to you is to request a chargeback from your bank/credit card company. They will ask the embassy for an explanation. If they’re not satisfied (or the embassy fails to respond within 30 days) you should get your money back. Unfortunately, doing this could result in a ‘black mark’ upon any future application. It is therefore for you to decide whether you wish to go down this route.

Asking chargeback simply is called fraud, and will certainly place you on a blacklist for Thai embassies.

Do you know of anyone who has done so and their subsequent visa application has been denied? I wouldn’t give them a second chance. There are other warm and cheap countries.

I’d assume it’s that your money was in financial products and not in a bank / savings account

Only normal bankaccount, NO financial accounts are excepted.

Money have to be immediately accessible, if for instance you end up in hospital and have to pay before treatment

actually it is a normal bank account, under the account I have deposit, government bonds, agency products etc. but most of the amount is under agency products because it can be deposit anytime I want. Maybe they don’t accept this?

They will not accept those financial accounts.

Only simple immediately accessible personal account, and the money has to have been in the account up to 6 months before applying.

Anonymous participant I don't think they understood, or even attempted to understand all those details even if you tried to explain them the same way. Keep it simple. Checking or savings accounts

I bet it was your asset class. They tend to want savings or checkings account and what you have sounds more like an investment product, is it?

maybe that’s the problem. I didn’t realize they would see this as investments not savings, cause I can redeem them anytime I want.
