Only received a 30 day stamp on my passport, although I have a 60 day tourist visa. (Yes I provided the visa to the officer) This ever happen to anyone else before? Is it possible he just gave me a "visa exempt " stamp?
Was wanting to change over to Education Visa and start Thai language school.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reports receiving a 30-day entry stamp instead of the expected 60-day tourist visa stamp upon arrival in Thailand, despite presenting the correct visa. Community responses suggest that this is a common error, and users advise the individual to visit an immigration office to rectify the mistake. There is additional discussion regarding the type of visa held, with mentions of both single-entry tourist visas and extensions.
Speaking strictly legal, the immigration has the right to give you a shorter time to stay. BUT they will normally only do that, if you are already on their list or black list.
I remember a guy many, many years ago, who came with a NON-O but was told at the airport immigration, that he only gets 30 days and after that will be prohibited to enter Thailand again. There was some legal issue.
But in 99 % it is a mistake by the person manning the booth. Remember, they are doing that by the hundreds every day, so a slip can happen. That's why a check of their stamp is always the right thing to do. IF they stamped you a shorter term, then aks them in a POLITE way, if that could have been a mistake.
Good luck. π

Go back to the Airport go to the top floor go to the information desk tell them about the mistake
They will call immigration Then immigration will come to you at the info desk and take your passport and correct the mistake.
Quite a common problem, you should always check, go to a immigration office asap, they should be able to rectify it for you.

Yes you should have brought this to the attention of the immigration officer before moving on
You can visit your immigration office and get the stamp amended

You should go back to where you got the stamp and explain and have them correct it. Mistakes happen, and you should always check your stamps before leaving every time.
