Is my DTV visa stamp valid for five years despite being an entry stamp for 180 days?

Hi friends! So stoked to have the DTV visa! Question for the group: I arrived the other day and this is what my stamp looks like. I understand the rule about leaving every 180 days, I was just surprised this was the format for the stamp. I asked the officer if it was good for five years, and he said yes, and he had given me the first 180 days. Yet, I’ve seen other people with a full page sticker visa that says 5 years. Am I cool? Do others have this same stamp? Or should I be concerned? Thanks for your thoughts!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the initial confusion regarding the DTV e-visa and its associated entry stamp. The user received a 180-day entry stamp upon arrival and was informed by an officer that their e-visa is valid for five years. Others in the group clarified that the 180-day stamp is normal for all entries, with the actual visa confirmation being the PDF document. Additionally, they explained the difference between e-visa and physical visa stickers obtained by those applying in person at embassies. The consensus is that there is no concern if the user has their PDF e-visa, and they should keep it handy during their stay.

Came through twice now with the PDF evisa. Quick glance and another stamp. Quicker then a tourist visa

If you want a sticker in your passport, Thailand Elite is selling them starting at 900k baht.

I got approved via Los Angeles as well using E-file. Did you just show them a printed page at customs to get that stamp? Thanks

E-visa (PDF pront) vs in person application (Sticker in passport 🤷🏻‍♂️

I came in same day. Mine is the same. Safe travels. ;0)..

Do not stay more than 179 days or u must file a tax return to Thailand and pay any taxes assessed based on your circumstances and IF any treaties exist between countries u are a citizen of.

All entry stamps will be 180 days, that's the length of admittance per entry or extension, your email PDF approval states the validity/expiry of the visa.

I arrived yesterday and have the same

This is your permission to stay date, not your DTV visa.

Your visa is electronic, they will also stamp like this if you were to have the shiny physical visa sticker in your passport. The whole page stickers are from embassies that you need to attend and apply in person and don’t allow you to apply online through e visa system. Nothing to worry about

Don't forget your 180 days has a 90 day report to immigration. The stickers you see isn't the stamp it's a physical copy of the visa from someone doing on person not evisa, but they are the same.

I got my stamp the other day.

I was really disappointed, wanted a shiny sticker… or something.

I got what you got.

As everyone else said, there is a difference between your entry stamp (180 days) and your actual visa, which it sounds like for you is a PDF document. The reason some people have an actual full page DTV visa in their passport is because they went via one of the embassies that was not offering e-visas, and therefore had to apply in person. You should carry the PDF with you (or on your phone) every time you enter the country

Following , should be fine as long as you have PDF. Everything on system anyway

They just stamp you in 6 month at a time

Nothing to worry about. Your evisa will show 5 years just as a sticker does. You get a 180 day stamp every time you enter during the validity of the visa

Your stamp should be 180 days, your confirmation of the visa is 5 years ( pdf file? ). Oh and congrats to the visa. If you extend, you get another 180 days stamped into the passport
