ORIGINAL POSTER
KL embassy not accepting DTV visa applications. October 8 they will open online application, until then they’re telling everyone to get tourist visas. People are pissed as you can imagine because there’s no where to get this information online.

Luckily I’m here applying for a different visa… wish me luck

TLDR : Answer Summary
The KL embassy is currently not accepting applications for the DTV visa and will only open online applications on October 8. In the meantime, applicants are being advised to obtain tourist visas, causing frustration among those affected due to a lack of readily available information online.

the post is regarding applying in KL, any random person can't just apply through the LA e-visa website from anywhere, you need to be an LA resident to apply with evidential proof of documents.

That’s not entirely correct. LA allows residents of several nearby states to apply. I applied with a NV ID.

the comment i replied to, they were advising people wherever they are in the world, to apply at the LA embassy through the E-visa website, you would need at least to be in America, you say LA will allow people from nearby states to apply, I wasn't aware of that, but it's good to know.

In my not negligible experience of various countries’ KL embassies; the tip is to go elsewhere!

You can not “just” apply at a random Embassy, you need to be physical in the country / area, that the chosen embassy cover, even for a e-visa application.

Starting breaking the law, when applying for a visa, is a very bad idea.

In the application proces you have to confirm, that all the information given are truthful and correct.

And staying at another place than you actual are, is giving false information.

let's be real, Thailand is a land of very arbitrary law enforcement.
