TLDR : Answer Summary
A recent inquiry about the Roi Et immigration office's request for three months of bank statements and a letter of guarantee from the bank for marriage visa extensions has raised some concerns. Community members discussed that while standard procedures have not changed, some officers might add extra requirements not officially recognized. Typically, 400,000 baht must be seasoned in a Thai bank account for at least two months prior to an extension application. However, there are inconsistencies in enforcement across different immigration offices.

It seems like we're not getting anywhere. The rules are plain, the seasoning is 2 months for extensions based on marriage using banked money.

You have two choices either point out that it's just 2 months seasoning OR live with the immigration officer making up rules.

the rules for extensions of stays based on marriage have NOT changed in a good long while.

If you are using banked money the 400K baht needs to be seasoned in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months prior to you applying for your yearly extension.

Now with that being said, SOME offices are also asking that you keep the money in the account during the 30 days under consideration period as well, BUT that is not a real rule, just something they're pulling out of their backside...

here're the requirements in thai and english

The officer gave me the new list of requirements but when I showed him photos of my shop he then asked for 3 months bank statements sounds fishy to me!

He did say they were ok but then he asked for 3 months of statements that are not a requirement on the official list.

Yes I know that's why I checked if they were ok as there are no numbers on the shop

as a rule photos required for marriage show you and you wife standing in front of the address numbers of where you LIVE, then other photos sitting inside the house etc.
