Just a Marriage Visa question:

The 2022 Extension of Marriage Visa requires a " Bank Guarantee and Bank Statement " document.

Does anyone know what this means? Is the Bank statement about the B400k that needs to be deposited?

No idea what "Bank Guarantee" means!

Thanks much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Marriage Visa extension in Thailand requires a "Bank Guarantee and Bank Statement." The bank statement relates to the Minimum balance of 400,000 THB required in a Thai bank account, while the bank guarantee refers to an official bank letter that confirms your financial status. Applicants can show proof by having the required amount held in the account for at least 2 months or they can provide an income affidavit from their embassy or proof of a monthly minimum deposit.

yep, it's basically a formal letter stating your current balance and a summary of your balances and transactions over the previous 12 months, standard docs for them.

the transactions for the previous 12 months are ONLY required if you are using monthly income method by international transfer.

For a marriage extension based on banked money they are not required seeing as the money needs to be in the bank only 2 months before you applied

Do you also need 12 months of statements along with bank letter and current passbook?

, two months transaction statement for OP's case. How long you would need depends on how you want to meet the financial requirements for what reason of extension. It's not always two months.

no, only two months, since that’s how long the money should be seasoned.

most banks will just provide both and know what documents you need.

the "standard bank letter" looks like this. It's just a 5 or 6 line letter written by the bank stating your name, account number, and balance the date you had the letter written. You also need to update your bank book the date you go to apply for the extension so it shows the current balance.

You need a letter from the bank as extra proof of your finances. For this Extension of Stay it will be:

At least 2 months prior application date a minimum of 400.000 Thb on a Thai bank account on your name, show with bank letter and bank book.

OR the income affidavit of your Embassy, Immigration may ask to show your bankbook to proof foreign income is used to live in Thailand.

OR if Embassy do not provide this affidavit, a minimum of 40.000 Thb a month as foreign deposit into a Thai bank account on your name for at least 12 months prior application date, shown with letter from bank and bank book

"OR the income affidavit of your Embassy, Immigration may ask to show your bankbook to proof foreign income is used to live in Thailand."

Does that mean that I don't need to transfer 40.000thb to a Thai bank, but could leave them on my Danish account?

I would like to get a Marriage Visa next year, but I'm not going to stay here full time. So I will end up with two households, and keeping everything in Denmark would be a lot easier. Otherwise I will move for the 400.000thb option.

does the 3rd option, 40k income a month, also come with the requirement to evidence social secuirty and income tax payment?

No, as this is foreign income. If you want to use income inside Thailand then you need to show work permit and 3 months sso and tax payments from you and 4 Thai staff.
