Why did my friends and I get rejected for a Thai visa in Hanoi, and can we reapply at another consulate?

Me and 2 of my friends just got rejected in Hanoi, what's wrong with that consulate?!

500k+ thb bank statement showing all transactions for the last 6 months. IT job with 2500$+ salary per month (employment agreement, job cover letter, company registration, paystubs for the last 6 months, 2024 tax declaration)

OK, I've heard that they reject randomly, but 3 person in 1 day 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Can we apply in Jakarta now? Or any other consulates recommendations?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user and their two friends faced visa rejections at the Thai consulate in Hanoi despite providing comprehensive documentation, including a substantial bank statement and proof of stable employment. Other users in the thread speculate on potential causes for the rejections, such as missing recommendation letters, the need for formal remote work permission from the employer, and possible reliability concerns about their documents. Suggestions are made for applying at other consulates, particularly in Jakarta or Ho Chi Minh City, which are reported to have a more forgiving application process. The conversation highlights frustrations with the current visa processing system and offers insight into alternative options for expats seeking a visa to Thailand.

Cambodia takes long, 20+ days because May is full of holiday. But so far it's very easy. No interview, no documents request. I barely past the requirements. Also the food and accommodation is cheap and people are the nicest. Not to mention the beach.

Did you and your friends apply as employees from the same company at the same time?

I saw several cases in russian speaking chats where people got rejected because of this.

It might make the documents look suspicious to the consulate.

Typos, name not exact match, first sight wrong information about address, conflicting information? Did you have a paper stating that you are allowed to work from Thailand?

Its getting absurd. You wait 3-4 weeks for denial.

Not worth it honestly in my opinion. Just travel around and come back and forth on tourist visa

Maybe they considered some documents unreliable, in fact, if there was one refusal, then it is more difficult to get it a second time.

Apply at HCMC they're a bit more forgiving and will let you know what documents they want if needed. Don't listen to the tin foil hatters here about "local employment" and "permission" etc.

You are missing the recommendation letters. You have to put clearly. YOU WONT ENGAGE IN LOCAL EMPLOYMENT AND ALL YOUR MONEY IS COMING FROM ABROAD. is this your own company or you work for someone else
