What should I do if my DTV visa application as a Digital Nomad was rejected?

Anonymous participant You are using Thai companies for transfers, hotels etc you doing business with Thai firms it is not DTV compliant.

Anonymous participant I understand you are not doing it face to face but it still is a Thai related business as you are using Thai partners. Your business is registered with TAT confirms your connection to the Thai economy. It is not given to a business with no connection to Thailand.

Anonymous participant Do you deal with Thai Companies? If so you cannot do it on DTV in Thailand. It is pretty obvious your application is outside the DTV conditions

1) Does not know the DTV conditions OR 2) Trying a cheap option of operating his business in Thailand ie getting around Work Permits? Cost of running a company and Thai staff etc

I thought it would be Immigrations decision and not the MFA? They would have input but final decision on interior is the Interior department. It would be like the FCDO UK telling the Home Office their immigration and visa policy. In fact the MFA has absolutely no touch points with any visitor on Visa Exempt in their customer journey :-)

I would not be surprised if it ends being 45 days - a compromise of sorts. The impact on the economy weighs heavy on the decision

The changing is annoying, but made necessary because heavily misuse, which is caused by having loopholes in requirements. For some reason it is difficult for Thai to look already and predict what will happen. The change of visa exempt from 30 to 60 days was made to get tourists stay longer. The average tourist from western countries stayed about 2-3 weeks, Asian tourists did stay 1 week on average. So 30 days was more than enough, the change to 60 days would not get more tourists, but would make it easier for people who wanted to live in Thailand without visa. The DTV in itself is a good idea, but there are too many loopholes.

Yes. It’s hard when they are constantly shifting goalpost. But that’s the thing we will have to put up with if not will have to stay home or choose another country to go to.
