I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a personal experience and reach out to you all for guidance. Unfortunately, I was recently denied my first DTV visa extension at both Bangkok airports in December. The reason for the rejection was related to a previous marijuana case in my home country, which has had a significant impact on my situation.
As a result, I've been unable to return to Thailand and have been in Vietnam since December 15th, trying to find a solution. If there is any way for me to resolve this situation and return to Thailand, it would mean a great deal to me. Being able to come back would allow me to continue my Muay Thai training and focus on personal growth, both for myself and for others who rely on me.
If anyone has any advice or suggestions on how I can navigate this challenge and make my return possible, I would be deeply grateful. Your support and any insights you can share would be incredibly valuable to me.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration. I truly appreciate this community.
Warm regards

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat shares their experience of having their DTV visa extension denied at Bangkok airports due to a previous marijuana case that led to a Blue Interpol notice. They are currently in Vietnam and seeking advice on how to resolve the situation to return to Thailand for Muay Thai training. Commenters suggest legal avenues to address the Blue Notice, express confusion over the immigration process regarding past offenses, and warn that avoiding legal issues could lead to further complications.
Also the problem is somehow Thailand knows now. Thailand doesn't ask about convictions but somehow they know about you, even when your case is settled there's going to be a little asterisks on your file that they might just keep denying you entry forever, plenty of Aussie bikies and criminals travel to Thailand and don't have any issues, most likely because the case is settled or they've done their time and Australia doesn't have a open record system unless the other country asks for it while you are being interviewed
The fact it went to Blue Notice level suggests you've been ignoring them for a while. If you keeps avoiding it, it could escalate to a Red Notice, and then you're properly wanted for arrest. Then it's proper squeaky bum time in Vietnam
I have other reason to train in Thailand I built everything in there like year and half thats why I'm not like you thinkin and feeling and our life path is different mate!
1 - Why ask extension if you're in grey zone and not only go outside few days and come back ?
2 - If you have blue notice as you told it might be a very serious case and immigration would see it each time you enter and leave and... also for your DTV application
I’m gonna tell you what lawyers tell most people, and that’s, keep your cards close and your money closer. I wouldn’t put any of this on the internet even if anonymous. There are rats in this group. Don’t trust anyone you meet abroad. Consult your embassy and a real attorney.
That said, there are def people who can’t go to Japan for example, who can go to Thailand, because of past felonies in US for example. So you should either be able to wait it out, or you’re SOL if they are serious charges.
Na, he’s gotta handle his business sooner than later. But asking on here, probably shouldn’t. Should do other research, they should probably not post and get a professional council on what to do first.
What do you mean by previous marijuana case in your home country? We're you arrested and charged, did you receive a jail sentence? Were you involved with drug smuggling /selling.. we need more info but assume it must be serious to have blue interpol notice. Presumably you cannot travel to any country, also where is your home country?
Like others have said you need to sort this out and try and get the interpol blue notice cancelled GL
bro, you are lucky they haven’t revoked your DTV so maybe just wait until your case is settled. If you keep trying, someone at Immigration might just go a step further and revoke your entire 5 years visa?
before is the same I just tell the truth, second time they ask why this is not fixed that's why they don't let me in. they want to fix the problem first.
There is a joke, which goes, "we are now in the hands of the diplomats" (Star Trek reference). The joke also applies here, "we are now in the hands of the lawyers". I looked up what an Interpol Blue Notice is, your home country's police force has some questions for you. I would think that if you got a lawyer in your home country to contact them and answer the questions, they have for you, they can then withdraw the Blue Notice. Then you should use a Thai immigration lawyer to find out if you can still enter Thailand and on which visa. Time to lawyer up.
So you were Granted a DTV but at port of entry you were denied due to the conviction in your home country. Sounds strange as there are guys in Thailand with some pretty serious records in UK and not barred. Not on DTV but non-Imm obtained in Thailand. I do not know if Fast Track would help but be open with the agent you book it through. No surprises for anyone at the airport as they should be able to check on advance
Looks like it is something "Under enquiry" rather than charged with a court date. Looks like Thailand have a policy of just barring entry to save any hassle.
I tell everything to the fast track service and they said it's okey in the second time trying and immigration won't let me in the service company didn't have much power to handle. but if you able to know the UK guys service it's so nice to handle my way thank you for your time.
CaptivatingPomegranate1527 The UK guys had finished their sentences. If you have tried Fast Track and still refused looks like you are out of luck till Blue Nitice resolved.
