I am on the stv visa but would like to stay longer than 9 months

Can I apply for a Covid extension. What reasons do they expect?

Answer summary

The user is currently on an STV visa and wishes to extend their stay beyond the standard 9 months by applying for a Covid extension. Community responses indicate that while it is possible to apply for such an extension, it is crucial to provide valid reasons for the request, as different immigration offices may have varying policies. It is suggested to prepare for questions regarding the necessity of remaining in Thailand before applying.

Sadly, I can not see a reason to keep this post active, because it'll turn into a "at my immigration office, I was..." post.

Different immigration offices have different polices. Read this post here:

For information about how to acquire a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

Apply for it, the worse that would happen is they would say no, and you'd have to return home.

You can TRY to apply for a covid extension but there is no "I would like to stay longer" reason.

I'd say go try to get it but be prepared with a plan b to fly out when this stamp expires.
