What should I do if my TM30 registration has an incorrect check-in date while applying for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand?

Hi all,

Just been reading the changes to the retirement visa requirements, so I'm sorry if I'm distracting you from that important issue with my question, which in comparison is probably quite minor. However I would like your advice, so here it is:

I've been to Thailand 3 times in the past 12 months on 30 days visa exempt visits, the latest entry being on Jan 18th. Previously I've left before the 30 days are up. This time I'm going to seek a 30 day extention. My current 30 days expire on 16th feb, so I'll go to immigration in Chiang Mai a few days earlier to get the extention.

I previously sought advice from the group re whether I needed a TM30, and following your advice I got a copy of the lodgement from my condo to take in case they ask for it. However, when I looked at it more recently I noticed it hasn't been correctly lodged, in that the check in date and check in to (check out) dates are the same. 21st January. The check in to date should be 21st February. I asked the receptionist to correct it but she said "can not". Presumably once they're lodged they can't be amended.

Is this likely to create a problem for me when seeking a 30 day extention? Not sure what I can do about it. Maybe I could ask the condo staff to re check me in and lodge a second TM30 with correct dates. But that may complicate it further with two TM30s lodged for me. I could go directly to immigration & point out the error in the TM30 to them to seek their advice, but thought I'd flag it first with the group for advice. Maybe because the error wasn't made by me and all the other info on the TM30 is correct it's not a big deal. What do you think I should do?

Thanks

Neil Harris

TLDR : Answer Summary
Neil is seeking advice regarding his TM30 registration, which has an incorrect check-in date. He has been in Thailand on visa-exempt visits and plans to apply for a 30-day extension before his current visa expires. Neil is concerned that the error in the TM30, which is lodged by his condo, may affect his visa extension application and is unsure how to proceed.
