Can I correct a 30-day stamp on my multi-entry visa in Thailand?

Hi All,

I have just flown back into Thailand today, but the immigration officer has only stamped me in for 30 days rather than the 60 days I am allowed on my multi entry visa. I only just realised when I got back to my accommodation. Can I go to an immigration office to have this corrected? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reports receiving a 30-day entry stamp instead of the 60 days allowed with their multiple entry visa upon arriving in Thailand. They want to know if it is possible to have this corrected at a local immigration office. Comments provide advice, with some suggesting that while it may be possible to have the stamp corrected at an immigration office, it's likely the user will need to return to the airport where they entered. Others share personal experiences and stress the importance of checking stamps before leaving immigration.

Thats because your visa or extension isn't in their system. If they don't carefully check your passport or you fill out a TM6 (only at land borders) an overworked official will simply assume you have no visa and stamp you in for 30 days.

Happened to me! I didn’t even realise it until I was flying out so technically overstayed by a month lol but the customs officer just changed the date for me so all good!

That being said, I now check it, double check it and triple check it after getting stamped 😂

Thank you, lesson learnt. I'll head back to the airport.

Yet again we can’t stress enough about the importance of checking your passport before leaving immigration on arrival and make things easier for the IO by presenting your passport to the immigration officer open on the visa page if you have one.

You will probably have to go back, lesson learnt always check your stamp before you walk away.

Give the local IO a try but they will probably say no.

If you surely have a valid Multiple Entry Tourist Visa, you can try the local immigration office to see if they can correct the stamp. As he entered by air, the correction at the immigration office is supposed to be possible.

The worst case is they say no. Then he has to go to the entry airport (where he was stamped in) to get it corrected.
