Went to immigration to get 30 day but just noticed they only gave me 14 does anyone know the reason? Is this common because of the new year holiday?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user expressed confusion over receiving a 14-day visa stamp instead of the expected 30 days from immigration in Thailand. Commenters clarified that a reduced stay may occur during peak holiday periods, indicating this situation is not uncommon. They recommended revisiting immigration on the 14th day to potentially obtain a 60-day extension.
