TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster mistakenly thought they were granted a 30-day visa but realized their stamp indicated a stay until December 1st. The conversation includes advice on correcting the visa stamp at an immigration office, the differences between visa types including visa exemptions and visas on arrival, and the necessity of paying attention to the details on the TM6 arrival/departure card. Suggestions include checking documentation and the possibility of obtaining a visa extension during the correction process.

yes. visa exempt are for those nationals who has bilateral agreement with Thailand. while those that doesn't fall under these agreement still can enter the country by paying the fee for visa on arrival...and also there are nationals that can't enter using both methods. they need to apply for a visa in Thai consulate/embassy outside the country before entering.

I think you can check it with your TM6 arrival/departure card if it matches as well.

, how could you have a departure date on your TM.6? It's an arrival/departure card and you haven't departed yet :O

OR do you mean you have your arrival date and your admitted until date on it?

Pay close attention to what is stamped in your passport, it is rather important. Enjoy your stay in Thailand :-)

OHHHH! Wait a minute! Ha ha ha ha - call me prone to panic! I just realized the 2 is faintly visible on the border of the stamp! Sigh.... If I ever start a band, that'll be the name "Pilinka....and Prone to Panic!" Ha ha! Well, I'll leave this up in case someone else benefits from the info, and never mind the embarrassment. Thanks again

Yes, I flew in. The officer asked me about onward travel, and I told him I hadn't booked anything as was planning to stay 30 days, and get an extension and then travel by land. He was all smiles, as he stamped me through, and of course I neglected to check the stamp. Thanks for your advice!

while you're there getting the stamp corrected you could get the 30 day extension too ;)

go to the immigration office and get the stamp corrected. Its free and any immigration office can correct a stamp IF you flew in, however some immigration offices WON'T correct a stamp if you entered by land and instead send you back to that border crossing.
