Can I correct a 30-day stamp to a 60-day stamp at immigration if I'm already overstaying?

I got a SETV before entering Thailand and the officer was tired and just gave me a 30 day stamp instead of 60. I only realized it now and am already overstaying. Can I get the stamp corrected or do I need to pay and do another run? I have a history of 2 years on tourist visas without problems.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user received a 30-day stamp instead of a 60-day stamp upon arrival in Thailand with a SETV and is now overstaying. Comments provided helpful advice, stating the user can go to the immigration office to correct the stamp without facing penalties for the overstay, as the mistake was likely on the immigration officer's part. It’s also noted that providing the correct visa number on the arrival form is crucial in avoiding such issues in the future.

Did you put your visa number on your arrival form? Happened to me and it was because I forgot to put the visa number on the form. However, I noticed right away.

Yup I put it in. By the time I made it to the desk it was after midnight already, so my guess is that he was just tired

you were stamped in wrong, go to the immigration office and get it corrected.

You will not be charged for overstay because you should have been stamped in for 60 days not 30.

In the future I bet you will check your stamp before you walk away from the counter ;)
