TLDR : Answer Summary
The post reflects frustration about being stuck in Los Angeles until July 1st, with comments expressing doubts about the ability of Americans to travel to Thailand due to potential restrictions related to COVID-19. Some comments suggest that Thailand may open for international flights but will likely have strict entry requirements for travelers from the U.S., possibly delaying travel until later in the year or beyond.

Why would anyone search for a valid reason to step out into the uncertain world riddled with pandemic and financial meltdown? Stay at home, allow this phase to pass. Things are all set to beguile you into making mistakes and pay a heavy price. Avoid travel. Enjoy where you are, probably its a lot better than being in ICU or a morgue cos no one will even visit to claim your body.

Could be worse mate, you could be in Syria.

Erhmm... I'm pretty sure Americans will be the last ones allowed to fly anywhere. It makes sense tbh. I wouldn't count with flying in the summer

Here's a kicker. One can't even prove when they left the USA. There's no outbound immigration check/process conducted by HS/ICE and annotated in your passport. Crazy eh? Course you have boarding pass ticket stub that I'm sure will convince TH immigration!
people who can work from home or otherwise have a salary can stay at home the vast majority of people in lockdown must return to work or go bankrupt. How many people have to lose their business or all their savings to make you feel safe?

I read that unless USA does some serious lockdown it'll May 2021 with 2.2 million deaths. Getting the economy going now is false economy numero uno

I seriously hope these figures are wrong but I see things reopening in the US and this is what was advised against to avoid those figures
- where did you come up with that wild - totally invalid information? Every one of those off the charts sickness and death projections were off by many magnatudes and have been abandoned. The last four months of real data show huge numbers of asymptomatic and low symptom yet Covid-19 infected people. The latest estimates puts Covid-19 in a category of a serious Flu with about the same death rate between 0.1 and 0.5%

I don't think anyone from the USA will be allowed anywhere near Thailand in July. I think you're looking at September or October.
it wouldn't surprise me if Thailand started cherry picking countries they allow back first.

Laos basically just opened up depending on the country coming from and there rules after no cases for the last 36 days. Laos reminds to be careful. Normally countries follow one like a domino effect.
I agree... I think it’s very unlikely Thailand will accept people who have been in the US or other countries where the virus is raging once flights open up. And if they do, it will come with strict rules such a quarantining in a special hotel for 14 days and a medical certificate.
Might be looking at next year or beyond for free and easy travel to Thailand once airports are open. At least for people visiting from or who have recently visited the US and other countries that have handled the virus poorly.
. Ah ok. The current ban on incoming flights has just been extended to June 30. Plenty of outgoing flights. The Thai government may try to get things working domestically first before they open up to international visitors again. I tend to think September might be more realistic, but you never know
