Attempt number 3 failed to enter Thailand. How on earth can they delay the layover flight by a week. What a joke.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many travelers are experiencing significant issues with flight cancellations and delays when trying to enter Thailand, often with layovers being pushed back by a week or more. Numerous comments highlight frustrations with specific airlines, particularly Malaysian Airlines, which has a questionable track record. Travelers suggest monitoring flight histories using platforms like FlightAware to select more reliable airlines. Land border crossings from places like Penang to Thailand are also complicated due to closures, making flight issues even more pressing for expats and tourists.
You didn’t notice the bridge, then? Most buses terminate at Sungai Nibong Penang.

Oh boy I was on the same flight as you. I called their call center and opened the ticket to use later this year and booked a non- direct flight with Scoot that transits in Singapore for the same day. It doesn't make sense to go this route but this one is much less luckily to be cancelled.
oh mad. We’re going same day still, just with a different airline and had to let our hotel know

My flights into Thailand from Canada changed five times in the last 24 hours they were changing before I was scheduled to board and even after it was incredible I had to cancel my trip because all of these changes made it impossible to meet Thailand requirements
Yes but some airlines are more reputable than others and put value in that. Malaysian Airlines....lets just say they have a very recent history of f*ckups that have even cost people their lives. 😑😞

to check how often a flight is cancelled. Also, when I flew back I was going to choose Qatar, Emirates, or Etihad as anecdotally they seem to cancel less than others. But even then, I look at their history on flightaware. As it was I chose Etihad and all was well.

Absolutely a nightmare company to deal with. Changed my flight so I would have a 16 hour layover in Kuala Lumpur - no thanks. I’d specifically booked flights with short airport turnarounds. Did it 3 times to me. I cancelled and despite flights not going they still retained every cent including the taxes. No flight, no landing tax. Then they wiped my bookings from their system so I was blocked from any hope of even a partial refund. I’d rather strap myself to an eagle 🦅 than ever fly with them again.

They just did the same to me!! From the 27th to feb 3. I called them and got them to change the first flight too. But I suspect all flights are going to be cancekked
