The discussion revolves around comparing Revolut and Wise for money transfers, particularly to Thai bank accounts. Users express mixed preferences: some prefer Wise for its speed and reliability, while others find Revolut preferable for its weekend rates and additional features. The conversation highlights key aspects such as transfer fees, transaction experiences, and the importance of diversifying financial services. Wise is better as they dont have a bank license. . .
Revolut, I have the metal card and it has great travel insurance which includes evaluation coverage. Lots of other perks, discounts and coverage for luggage, stolen, lost, damaged. Non refundable item coverage. No foreign exchange fee's. Savings account offers 4.25% lots of perks.
Well my experience we have 2 separate Wise accounts
Both of them was hacked:(

I tested it. I sent €25k through Revolut. When it arrived (after two days) I sent another €25k through Wise. Meanwhile the official exchange rates had drecreased slightly so I expected less money from Wise.
To my surprise, the transfer from Wise ended up in my Kasikorn at 2000 baht higher than the Revolut transfer
So for me it’s Wise all the way. Not considering any other transfer method.

Revolut now has a UK Banking license so they are advertising a lot
Using them may be better for American ex pats as Wise is barred from America I believe

Never used Revolut because Wise has always done everything I've needed

Wise works perfectly fine for me.

Yes, I prefer Revolute when transfer money on weekdays. At weekend it's more expensive then Wise.
Also I use Wise for more then 50K Baht because here Revolut has an intermediate bank fee.

I use both. And transfers to Bangkok Bank has mostly been instant. And fees difference is not noticeable.
Right, remember WISE is not a bank so its not insured if it goes belly up. They say your money is safe but who knows until that statement is tested. The goal is to be my own bank.
Always try to have redundancy when your income is at stake!

From the comments I’ll keep my WISE account. Any other alternatives to WISE worth having as a secondary reserve of accessible money. I did not want to keep all my funds in one app in case they go bust.

Had an absolute nightmare when I downloaded the app and everything seems backward eg how much baht you want? not how much currency do you want to send, wiped the app as soon as poss.
you can fill either field and it will calculate the other field.

The fees for wise are fine, as it generally is instant when I transfer to a thai account

I used to accept payment via Revoult, however SCB were charcing 490thb when I sent to my bank account as it's an international transfer, so I don't accept it anymore... wise just 50thb

never had any success with Revolut transferring Bhat to a non-revolut account i.e Thai bank account not sure what i am doing wrong but every time it fails and i have to wait 19 days for money back and then they deduct transfer fees only a few bhat but still annoying. Wise on the other hand is instant within minutes same bank same information so no idea why the difference. 🤷♀️
Checked and doubled check tried to speak with Revolt via their online chat they just say no issues their end must be receiving bank🤷♀️ but as said Wise NP works ever time.
I can recommend both services, but there are differences in the fees for the transfer. Wise is more expensive than Revolut. Personally, I have always used Wise, but now that Wise has raised its fees a bit, I only use Revolut. I can recommend both.

I prefer my home bank over Wise. They have dropped the ball.
The WISE credit card works, some ATMs work (it’s frustrating when 2 or 3 different ATMs in a row don’t work), and transferring money is always delayed.
The app states the money is transferred immediately, deducts it from your account but the transferee doesn’t get the money until 10 hours later or the next day.
So try to pay for a months rent to move in and all you get is receipt that the money was paid but the other party doesn’t have the money.
