TLDR : Answer Summary
Expats in Thailand recommend several methods for transferring money to their Thai bank accounts, with Wise being a popular choice due to its favorable exchange rates and low fees. Users confirmed that the Wise app is available for iPhone and functions well for both small and larger transactions. Other options mentioned include using banks directly, Currency Club, and Revolut, though some users experienced varying transfer speeds, especially on weekends. Overall, the community advises careful planning for transfers to ensure accessibility and cost-effectiveness.

I transfer direct from my UK Bank. £9.50 charge. Send to Thai bank as UK pounds as a better exchange rate in Thailand and small bank fee.

thanks mate, i do normally just bring cash over and change when im here, but will be honest i just moved £250 across via wise, it cost me £1.83 to transfer and i got 44.93 exchange rate, best im finding here at mo is currency exchange and your getting 44.68.

Good advice from the guys on this page, maybe worth you having a look aswell mate....

But cheers for the advice!

I think it depends on the amount you are transferring. I transferred £20k through my bank for £9:50 took less than 24 hrs.

Wise is great for exchange rates and charges, but depending on the bank you’re sending money to it may not log it as an overseas transfer - and a number of extensions need it to seen seen as overseas.

They have a phone app.

all you have to do is tag the money as needed for long term stay/visa Thailand when transferring on Wise. It will then list as international transfer on Bank of Bangkok ledger.
