TLDR : Answer Summary
Users have shared mixed experiences using Wise for money transfers from Australia to Thailand. Although one user notes low fees and quick transfers, another warns of account seizure issues. Alternatives such as Remitly and OrbitRemit are mentioned as reliable options with rapid service. Users highlighted the importance of the day of the week for transfer speeds and specific bank fees when sending money to Thai accounts.

I've used Wise for ten years now and the only time a transfer has taken more than a minute or two, is sometimes at weekend and only one time a computer problem, which took two days to complete transaction. Other than that one time my transfers have sometimes only taken seconds to arrive
Family support and to an SCB account, but I believe Wise as well as SCB they are partners with Bangkok bank also. I only transfer to the same account every time and I've been doing transfers for years. Also I use debit card, it's much faster than bank transfer, takes seconds in most cases. Also I've found that it's better to do transfers Monday to Friday. Sometimes when I've done transfer at weekend it can take more time, sometimes by Upto one or two days. Must be something to do with computer systems at weekend.

Also transferring to SCB, the SCB take a 400 baht charge, but I've been told Bangkok bank don't charge when you transfer to an account with them.

I use Orbitremit, never had a problem. Low fees and a good rate. Just moved money yesterday and was completed in 10hrs
Be careful as I used them for five years then one day out of the blue they seized my account and stole my money. Couldn’t log on to see how much was there and they are uncontactable. Never resolved. Google searches find many people in same boat
actually you’re incorrect. They can act as a “bank”, keep money in there, transfer between currencies and even withdraw money through a wise card. That’s correct, I didn’t know how much I had there. I live in Thailand and get paid AUD. So it was perfect. Until..
tried at least 50 times via email and phone. Was during covid. Only response I got would be via email saying it could take 45 days. Never another word. Personally know another it happened to also.

As I said though I used them for 5 years without fault and was more than happy until that “incident”
that's why I don't leave money with them. I simply transfer immediately from bank to them and they transfer to my thai account. Google searching also finds many people very happy with their service
I was happy for 5 years using them weekly until out of the blue they froze it without reason and never ever access again to my money. And there’s zero I can do about it. Just advising what they can and have done to others. And they can get away with it.
