Hey there , i would like to know if the dtv request should be done in the country where you have your residency , or your country where you were born. Can it be both ? Thanks !
Answer summary
You should apply for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) at the Thai embassy or consulate in the country where you have legal residency. This means you must demonstrate that you live and work in that location, not just where your passport is from. If you were born in a country but currently reside elsewhere, you must apply based on your current residency. You may also want to familiarize yourself with the process by checking official embassy websites or resources like books on Thailand.

Sawadee, I live here and I can tell you simple. For DTV you apply at Thai embassy or consulate in the place where you have legal residency right now. That means where you work or live with papers, not only passport country.
Country where you were born matters only if you still live there. So yes it can be both if you were born and you still have residency in same country. If you live abroad you must apply where you live now and show proof like residence card or bills.
You could consider reading a book or two before your trip. I’d recommend Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it includes all the info and insights you need. You should check it out. A very good companion 👌.
What country is your passport from? That is what they considetmr your country of permanent residence and the country that you need to be in when you apply for the DTV.
