Hello!

My boyfriend and I will be applying for the DTV visa when we return to Norway soon, and I have a question regarding proof of funds.

We both have sufficient funds in our accounts, but most of the money is kept in a savings account, so there have been very few transactions. I'm therefore a bit unsure about what documentation is required...

Is it enough to submit an account activity/transaction report, or do we need to provide an official bank statement? Since the funds are already in the account and have been there for a while, there isn't much account activity to show.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the process and can share what documents they submitted.

Thank you! 😊
Answer summary
When applying for the DTV visa in Thailand, you need to provide proof of sufficient funds. A 3-month bank statement showing the required amount is typically sufficient, with minimal activity being acceptable as long as the funds are in your name. The funds do not necessarily have to be in a Thai bank account; foreign accounts are also permissible if they meet the requirements.

You need only a 3 month bank statement. Most bankapplications can give it.

As long as the money is instantly accessible and you each have accounts in your own names with required funds in them that's all that's needed to apply. Depending on the basis you are applying and what you both intend to do in Thailand there may other financials you need to supply

It is normally sufficient to provide a bank statement showing that the required amount is on deposit at the time of application, together with a three month bank statement demonstrating that the funds have remained in the account during that or a period.

If you are applying for a DTV based on freelance work, however, you will normally also need to demonstrate that you are actively working as a freelancer and have an ongoing professional activity or business.

Just needs to show monthly statements for the required number of months. No activity is needed, just needs to be accounts in you name.
