Hi, I'm on my 90-day Non-O visa, the 800k THB deposit should come in before or around Dec. 18, an exact month after my entry. I plan to extend my stay to a year. Many thanks to great advices from this group. My questions are :
1) when should I apply for an extension to a year ?
2) if I wait for my deposit to reach 2 full months and then apply, will I have enough window between 2-month deposit vs. 90-day stay ?
( I really don't want to leave the country and then re-apply for 90-day Non O )
3) are health insurance、criminal record from one's country required for the extension.
4) my Thai bank did not ask for address certificate and I successfully opened an account. Would I still need to apply for address certificate for any purpose ??
K-Bank at EmQuartier shopping mall did an excellent job, no address certificate needed、no hassles、very helpful staff and open on weekends. I strongly recommend this branch ! 💪💪
Million thanks ! 🙏🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on extending their 90-day Non-O visa to a year, questioning when to apply for the extension, the timing of their bank deposit, and requirements such as health insurance and address certificates. Community responses indicate that the deposit must be in the account for 60 days before applying for an extension, ideally just before the 90-day visa expires. Health insurance and criminal records are not required for the Non-O visa extension.

I believe the rules are you have to have the 800,00 in the bank for 60 days before you apply for the extension, you also need to have at least 2 weeks left on your original 90 day visa before it expires? You might have to leave, ask your immigration office
Thank you ! I was busy hanging around and forgot to open a bank account until last weekend ; luckily most bank branches in malls are open over weekends. 😃
With these many questions I'd certainly enlist the services of a Visa agent. I have one that I use for anything immigration related. Ensures no time wasted and stress-free.
The money has to season for a full 2 months date to date. On that day you can go to immigration and apply for your one year extension. What date is your current permission to stay stamp? No health insurance or background check requirement, insurance is always a good idea though. You need to make sure that the TM30 has been filed by your landlord, check with your local immigration office to see if they want to see your lease when getting the extension. You'll need the residence certificate from immigration if you want to buy or sell a motorcycle or get a Thai driver's license etc, they're good for 30 days.
hope for the best, you have 2 days. I may be wrong but, if for instance the money is a day late you might be able to pay the overstay fine and complete the extension.
Money needs to be in a Thai bank account for 60 days before you get extension. You are cutting it close, if not too late. Get a list of what you need from the imagration office.
