Good morning all ... following on my advice request of 9 May .... it’s now time for me to apply for a one year extension of stay on my OA visa. I have the health insurance starting 21 Nov 2020 as well as 800K+ seasoned in the bank for more than 2 months. Can you please tell me when (how many days before I apply for the extension) I need to get letter from the bank? Thank you in advance πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜Š

The user is seeking advice on when to obtain a bank letter as part of the application process for a one-year extension of their OA visa in Thailand. Comments suggest that the requirements may vary by location, with Bangkok allowing a bank letter that is up to 7 days old. Additionally, the user must wait until their health insurance starts on November 21, 2020, to apply for the extension.

Something else to check. In Bangkok you cannot apply until your insurance starts. So in your case, if you don't currently have insurance you would have to wait until Nov 21. If you do have insurance now I would recommend that you bring the insurance certificates for both this years and next years insurance policies.

The office you use (which you neglected to mention) sets the rules about the bank letter. in BANGKOK it can be up to 7 days old. You need your bank book updated the date you apply for the extension.

I’m in Pattaya ... I visited the immigration office here and they gave me a list of requirements but the number of days before submission is not mentioned. Thanks for the info anyway πŸ™

post on a pattaya f/b group and I'm sure someone will have the answer you want OR swing by there before you're going to apply for your extension and ask them :/

I was told day before and an update on the day. I have now put it in fixed term account no update needed but still get letter from bank day before.
