TLDR : Answer Summary
A Thai visa becomes valid from the day it is issued, allowing entry within a specified time frame, typically 90 days. However, your actual stay in Thailand starts when you enter the country and receive the entry stamp, which defines the duration of your stay depending on the visa type.

The day it's stamped. The 'day' is key because you loose a day.

the visa validity (the period you can use it for an entry) starts on the day of issue. The STAY PERMIT starts upon entry and will get stamped into your passport. A single entry visa becomes INVALID upon entry. You are inside Thailand with a stay permit, NOT on a visa. A multiple entry visa remains valid for use for unlimited entries until the "must be used by" date
hi can I ask something, If a few days before the elite visa expires (5-year visa) I enter Thailand, do I get a stamp for another year? Or the visa is automatically invalid because it has expired
I am not 100% sure, however I think I have read it somewhere that you can get close to 6 years stay permit out of a 5-year Elite visa by entering one last time before the expiry of the visa validity

A visa is valid from the day it's issued and most single entry visas are valid for 90 days from the day they are issued.
You then need to enter Thailand within those 90 days in order to receive your entry stamp. Your entry stamp will vary depending on what visa you have. For a tourist visa it will be 60 days from the day you arrive and for most non immigrant visas it will be 90 days from the day you arrive.
i have posted the question on this grup regarding the waiting time and have few replies that 6months starts from the day you arrive in Thailand.Im confused as ... now
anyone that says that is wrong. All visas regardless of the type of visa is valid from the day it's issued. Most people only care about the entry stamp though and that's valid from the day you enter Thailand.
yes, you must print the evisa and show it every time you enter and can use it to enter until the "must be used by" date on the visa. That date will be 6 months from the day the embassy issues the visa.
no, we have just got our Non O, which is valid for 3 months to enter Thailand, so we have to enter by 15 January, then itโs valid for 90 days from day of arrival
a multiple entry visa isn't designed for someone to try and extract every single day possible in Thailand. It's designed for convenience, allowing you to come and go for 6 months without having to worry about a visa. The fact that some people do use it to try and get every single day possible doesn't change the purpose of it or necessitate changes
every now and then I have some good advice but when something is asked that is very obvious then, oh well. Kind of like I have a multiple entry visa does that mean I can enter Thailand more then once. 5555
