When does my visa entree officially start? Upon arrival at BKK or when I leave my home airport?
Edit: I also have a layover for 15 hours in Taiwan.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Your visa entry to Thailand officially starts when you receive your entry stamp upon arrival at Thai immigration, specifically at your first point of entry, which in this case is Bangkok (BKK). This marking indicates the date your permitted stay begins, regardless of layovers in other countries like Taiwan. The visa is valid for a specified period from its date of issuance, but you must enter Thailand within that predefined period to activate your stay.

That's not a visa, it's a visa exempt entry. It starts the day you enter the country

An entry stamp, as the name suggests, records in your passport the date that you enter Thailand. It is at that point that your permitted stay in the country begins.

I think it depends on what country you come from and what visa you have
I came here on a non immigrant o visa from the UK
90 days!
It starts from the day it was issued, not the day you arrive in Thailand
I got mine from the Thai Embassy in London, 5 days before my flight. That was the start date

Your non imm O 90 day visa starts the day it's issued, however that gives you 90 days in which to enter the country. You'll be stamped into Thailand for 90 days as long as you enter the country within 90 days of the visa being issued
Hmm, no, your visa is valid for 90 days. If you do not enter the Kingdom in those 90 days your visa becomes void. When you enter the Kingdom, you'll get a stamp of stay according to your visa.
