What are the options for extending a 17-year-old's stay in Thailand with a visa expiring soon?

Good afternoon. I have sorted out my extension of stay from ‘guardian’ to retirement and my wife is tagging along. We have two daughters, one is still in school and she got her ed extension. The other is 17 years old, she finished school, her current extension finishes on the 30/06 but she will stay her for 1 more month. What are my options? Can she apply for a Covid extension? I understand that she can be in overstay and not be fined as she is still a minor but I would really want to avoid that. Any help will be welcome!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has changed their visa status from ‘guardian’ to retirement and seeks guidance on their 17-year-old daughter’s visa situation as her current extension ends soon. Comments suggest considering a short trip to a neighboring country to re-enter Thailand under visa-exempt entry, applying for an Extension of Stay for being unable to travel, or exploring a family visit visa extension. While minors under 15 are exempt from fines for overstaying, those between 15 and 18 can face fines but not blacklisting.

Can't she get a 60 day visiting family extension now?

,

is right. 60days visiting family extension is applicable only when you have a Thai family in Thailand.

I believe this applies only to Thai family/relatives

Or let her travel neighbouring country and enter Thailand on visa-exempt entry (though depends on her nationality)

yes I thought about that, it’s probably the safest option

Until 15 years of age, minors will not be financially fined, after 15 years until 18 year they will be financially fined but do not get blacklisted due to overstay.

As she is 17 years, she will be fined for overstay but not blacklisted.

You might try the Extension of Stay based on being unable to travel but with all restrictions getting lifted, make a plan B like short trip abroad.

@Robert ******
thanks very precious clarification, eventually can she be added to my retirement visa?

That depends on what kind of stay she has, best is to ask that directly to your local Immigration Office.
