What is the best way for my family to switch from tourist visas to Non-B and Non-O visas in Thailand?

Heres my situation, needing the best way to attain visas for my family members. We came in with tourist/coe's.

I am a teacher on Samui at an international school. My school is taking care of my extension and Non B visa after that. My daughter attends the school. She is 4. She can get an ed visa after paying the fees. I was told that we need to leave the country to get these visas because we are tourists. Is this true?

Then, would it make more sense for my husband to get a non-o visa by going on her education visa or should he piggy back off me? I heard that there is a 3 month fee then a year fee after to do this, as well as showing that he has

500,000 baht in savings. This seems like a lot of money so I'm not sure if it is accurate.

I assume my twins who are 1 will be under my visa?

If anyone has any tips or advice, please let me know. I plan to go to immigration this week to do our covid extension, I just don't know what is the best route to take after that.

Thank you!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on transitioning their family's visas after entering Thailand on tourist visas. They are currently working at an international school, which is handling their Non-B visa extension. The user's daughter, who is attending the same school, can apply for an education visa. Concerns include whether they need to leave Thailand to obtain these visas, the financial requirements for the husband’s Non-O visa, and the assumption that their twins may fall under the user's visa. Responses indicate that the family can secure necessary visas without leaving the country and provide options for applying based on family status.

Is your school not happy for your husband and kids to be your dependents on your non-B?

No one needs to leave the country to get ANY of the visas you require

You can get a 90 day Non-B visa issued from your tourist visa entry at the immigration office with documentation from your school and 2000baht <- the cost of a 90 day Non-B visa

Your child can get a 90 day Non-ED visa issued from her tourist visa entry at the immigration office with documentation from the school she attends, and it also costs 2000baht for a 90 day Non-ED

Your husband can get a 90 day Non-O visa based on being the foreign parent of a child here on an ED visa by putting 500K baht in a thai bank account in his name only and applying for a 90 day Non-O visa for 2000baht at the immigration office

OR

Once you get your Non-B visa he can apply to get a 90 day Non-O visa based on being the spouse of a foreigner who legally works here with the correct visa/work permit. That requires NO financial proof, just documents from your employer, marriage certificates, etc

for ALL those visa/extension types no one has to leave the country. You DO need so many days on the current stamp you have to apply because they go under consideration before they issue the visas. SO if you're running out of time get a 60 day covid extension to bridge the time gap.

@Tod ********
Thank you so much for the advice. So I will get our 30 day covid extensions this Thursday and it's best to get going on the ED and non-O visas Asap. If my daughter gets an ED visa through the school, do any of us need the 500K requirement? Or is it enough that I am working here / supporting her.

the covid extension is for 60 days

AND you will get a Non-B thru your employer so your visa is covered

Your husband has the choice of getting the NOn-O visa based on care of a foreign child here by putting 500K baht in a thai bank account in his name only

OR

By applying based on being the spouse of a foreigner who legally works here with a Non-B visa/work permit (you). <- that one doesn't require any proof of funds. It requires documentation from your employer about your job, and proof you're married
