Hope to get some advise for my friend. He is a teacher in Bangkok and stuck in a tough situation. He has his 3 month non B sticker issued in Bangkok 2 months ago and waiting for the school to apply for his work permit before the non b expires. He wants to leave and find another job asap due to a bad working environment. His questions are. 1. How would this affect his non b which he got based on his current school 2. how would this affect his chance of getting a wp with a new employer 3. can the current non b be transferred to a new school here in Thailand? 4. Can a non b be switched to an ED visa? Hope for some advise since. Have a nice day.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A teacher in Bangkok with a 3-month Non-B visa is facing challenges due to a poor work environment. Key considerations include:
1. Quitting the job won’t immediately affect his current Non-B visa; he can stay in Thailand using the 90-day stamp.
2. He must consult with potential new employers regarding work permit applications.
3. The Non-B visa cannot be transferred to a new employer as it is company-specific.
4. Switching from a Non-B visa to an ED visa (education visa) is not permitted. An extension of the existing visa is only possible through the current employer's work permit.
