Hi everyone, I am going for my first Non O Visa (married to a Thai nation) next week in Savannakhet, I will let know how it goes and any hints I pick up while there. I donβt see any holidays scheduled for next week over there that the consulate may be closed.

NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
Remember also that Monday morning and Thursday morning are TERRIBLE days to show up at the consulate in Savannakhet because the visa run companies from Bangkok and Pattaya show up on those days too.
Go on a Tues/Wed and you'll be there with maybe 50 people,
Thanks Tod, we were planning to go Thursday but we will go Wednesday now. Do remember last year we went on a Thursday and there were hundreds of people. Good hint to remember for future runs.

Lets us know every paper you take
Any questions they ask
And of course the outcome
Best of luck to you ππ

It's not all that advantageous to list every paper you take because some people take everything including the kitchen sink document wise
I've found taking ONLY what they require works a LOT better than taking a bunch of needless documents.
you need the following;
-the original rose bordered marriage certificate
copies of:
-front&back of the rose bordered marriage certificate
-front&back of your thai wife's i/d card
-thai wife's house book listing
-data page of your passport
-lao visa & entry stamp
you also need 2 passport sized photos,a filled out application along with 5000baht.
She signs the things with her name on them, you sign the things with yours <- meaning you BOTH sign the marriage certificate copies ;)

Thanks Ian McCully. May go that route myself in the future. Up-to-date knowledge is most useful.

No holidays next week but you need to watch these consulates for a closure on Monday February 10th. They have slipped a late substitution day in for makha bucha day which falls on Saturday 8th and made the Monday a public holiday.
Some of there holiday calendars haven't yet been updated as they went to press early.
Sounds good! I don't think it's closed at all this coming week. There's a lot of reports about Savannakhet, do a search in the group, and you'll get lots of tricks and advice.
