Hello everyone,

I require some advice or guidance please.

My retirement visa expires on the 28th December and I will not renew. I have booked a same-day return flight to KL on the 26/12. I have been informed that I only need to cancel my multiple entry permit at departure immigration Thailand. And that I receive a 60 day tourist visa upon my return at arrivals immigration TH.

Is this correct? Thanks for your time

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's retirement visa expires on December 28, and they plan to depart Thailand for Malaysia on December 26, hoping to obtain a 60-day tourist visa upon returning. However, comments suggest that the user needs to cancel their multiple entry permit upon departure, and there may be complications in re-entering Thailand due to the expiration of their retirement visa. It is advised to wait until after December 28 to re-enter, or to seek a Visa Exempt stamp instead of a tourist visa.

you need to wait until that multi re-entry permit expires, before you re-enter Thailand. This is anytime AFTER midnight of December 28

You cannot cancel it. When you return you have to ask for a Visa Exempt stamp as your only extension is still live. You may not get it if the Immigration Officer doesn't want to play game.

Your multi-entry permit expires when your visa extension does.
