Is it easier to obtain a Thai tourist visa in Kuala Lumpur compared to Vientiane?

I have a lot of Thai visa's in my passport including Tourist, edu, and work. My most recent is a multiple entry tourist good for up to 9 months that I got in New York. I need one more tourist visa before I fly back to the US. I only have 3 pages left in my passport (in different spots throughout the book). I'm thinking about flying to Kuala Lumpur to get my tourist visa but I heard it's harder than Vientiene. In Malaysia I don't need a visa but in Laos I do. This will take up more space, and I'm not sure how much space I need for my Thai visa and stamps. Thanks for any advice :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has multiple Thai visas, including tourist, education, and work, and seeks advice on obtaining another tourist visa before returning to the US. They consider flying to Kuala Lumpur for the visa but are aware of the space limitations in their passport and the potential difficulties at border control. Comments suggest Kuala Lumpur as a viable option, highlighting the need for advance online appointments for visa applications and discussing experiences with visa grants in Malaysia versus Laos.

Bali is super easy to get a SETV and they just have a stamp to get in and out. Flights can be as cheap as 160 USD on Air Asia, but I recommend flying in to BKK and not DMK. A little extra to fly Thai Air or Malaysia Air can save you the additional scrutiny that a lot of people are reporting at DMK.

you have far more likelihood of running into difficulties and being questioned at passport control comin' IN to the country than you getting another tourist visa.

I'd say a country where you don't need a visa is the place you need to go to get a tourist visa for thailand. Nearby I'd say that's one of the 3 thai consulates in Malaysia.

Thanks, does KL have any kind of reputation around granting visas?

Last year the KL embassy advised me that they were issuing the last SETV I would get from them because I had too many from them. A few months later, I got a flat out refusal to accept my application for an SETV in Phnom Penh for having too many total SETVs in my passport. It really is a crap shoot now, but Like I stated below, the easiest place I have ever applied for a SETV is in Bali, and they do not have a full page visa. Just a stamp in and out. Good luck.

Sean Ross Maybe ...but Thai Immigration may question you at arrival back in Thailand. A Tourist Visa is no guarantee of allowed entry. As has been reported recently by those denied entry at airports...who have multiple back to back entries into Thailand on numerous kinds of visas.

If you print out these documents, check all the boxes, hand over the asked requirements than it is no problem. If you mis anything, than you don't get the visa.

1 page for Laos Visa, little more than half page for exit and entry stamp and 1 page for Thai Visa. If going to KL little more than half page for exit and entry stamp and 1 page for Thai Visa. If you go to KL after 1 Feb you need to make an on-line appointment to apply for the visa. There are no documents at the Embassy so you need to print out these two forms and fill them in before you go to the Embassy
