Can I leave Thailand during my tourist visa validity and return without a re-entry stamp?

I have a British passport and a standard tourist visa which I received at the airport on arrival. I arrived to Thailand on the 5th of December. I want to travel to Malaysia and Cambodia and then return to Thailand for my outwards flight home from Bangkok - BEFORE the visa expires. I will travel within the dates of my visa - is it okay to fly in and out during this time or should I get a re-entry stamp? I can't make sense of the information online - please help.

* I am in Krabi at the moment. If I need a re-entry stamp - can I do this at the airport rather than the immigration office?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual holding a British passport and currently in Thailand with a standard tourist visa (visa exempt) wishes to travel to Malaysia and Cambodia before returning to Thailand for an outbound flight home, while ensuring they do not overstay their visa. Based on community advice, it's clarified that if they hold a visa exempt stamp (not a visa), they do not need a re-entry permit; they can simply leave and return for a new entry stamp without incurring any issues, provided they have required documentation such as proof of accommodation and onward flight.

Thank you for the advice everyone. Is it mandatory to have 20,000 baht cash or can I show it via my bank account in another currency? I will return to Thailand for three days and am not intending on spending that amount of money.

you are correct...CASH ONLY

When everyone says "cash only" it means cash only, not "cash only, well, or a bank statement or something".

Cash. Only cash. Period.

Nefertari Boles CASH ONLY. And...NO ATM MACHINES BEFORE THAI IMMIGRATION.

If you didn't buy a Visa BEFORE arriving, you have NOT a visa - you have a visa exempt.

If that is the case, when you go out of Thailand the visa exempt is over. You can come back in another visa exempt (max. 2 visa exempt per year if using land borders, no limit if using airport). Visa exempts are for free.

If that is not the case, and you DID buy a Visa BEFORE coming to Thailand, then you can get a re-entry permit in the airport before going through inmigration (1000฿ if I'm right), or you can just leave the country and come back in a (free) visa exempt.

Visa = you have a BIG sticker with the Visa, AND a stamp with the date you enter and the date of permited stay. It should be 2 months.

Visa exempt = you ONLY have the stamp with the dates, and it's ONE month.

Anyway, remember to have the three proofs when you re-enter: onward flight, acommodation and 20K฿ IN CASH.

You have a visa exempt stamp not a visa. You cannot get a re-entry permit when you enter visa exempt. Just fly in again, and get another stamp. To be safe carry proof of accomodation, ticket out of Thailand and 20,000 baht cash.

just fly to malaysia and cambodia and when you fly back to thailand they will give you another 30 days
