I am not going to renew the retirement visa which is due on 16apr and i am planning to leave on 15apr. As i will back to thailand later 1 week using visa exemption.

1. Do i need to cancel the retirement visa (with multiple re-entry) before i leave?

2. Will i be asked any question when i come back using visa exemption?

3. I may extend 30 days, again will i be asking any quesion (judging of having retirement visa before and now change to visa exemption.)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to leave Thailand on April 15, just before their retirement visa expires on April 16, and intends to return using a visa exemption one week later. They have questions about whether they need to cancel their retirement visa, if they will encounter questions upon returning, and if there will be any issues when extending their stay. Responses suggest that while it is not necessary to cancel the retirement visa before leaving, returning on a visa exemption immediately after holding a retirement visa may raise questions from immigration.

Having had a retirement visa and extension of stay recently may raise serious questions if you leave and come back immediately on an exemption. The extension of stay you’re having is exactly what Thailand wants, they’re trying to control the misuse of exemptions so don’t be surprised if they deny you.

Silly question, but why would you do that? Why have you not done your extension in the last week or so? Save any grief that could come your way.

The Retirement Visa is the least troublesome if you are doing everything legit. Wonder why you would give it up.

2. Maybe, don't be surprised to be asked why you haven't obtained an extension based on retirement and yet you return just a few days later
