I'm currently outside of Thailand but I've got a series of dental appointments coming up in Bangkok. I'm considering applying for a DTV on that basis but am a little confused as to how much medical treatment you are supposed to have organized in order to get a DTV. Does anyone have experience with this, or know if there is some threshold of appointments or medical severity you need to meet?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around applying for a Dental Treatment Visa (DTV) for dental appointments in Bangkok. Users mention that a solid treatment plan covering six months is generally required, but some have had success with shorter plans. It's advised to check with the local Thai Embassy for specific criteria and to find a dentist participating in the DTV process for better chances of approval.

Check your local Thai Embassy, they're the only ones who can help you as they'll be issuing the visa based on their criteria

I queried this with an agent who told me it would be up to the dental surgery. I think that meant whether they take part in the process or not. My dental work would easy be more than 6 months due to the periods of time required for healing between each treatment, so I would suggest that if you can find a dentist that participates in the DTV and your treatment covers 6+ months you should be good to go.

*I havent started my process yet so take what I said as my own personal experience ๐Ÿ‘

Where will you apply? As noted treatment plan covering 6 months is pretty solid grounds for the DTV.

Generally it's 6 months or more, but some with less have had luck.
