I'm planning to apply for the DTV under medical treatment (dentist) at the embassy in Vientiane next week.
I've searched through all related posts in this group but there's limited info on this specific scenario, so I'm looking for some input/advice.
1. Has anyone else applied for the DTV under medical treatment (dentist) at the embassy in Vientiane?
2. If so, exactly what information did you need to provide?
3. Is there any reason why I should go to a different embassy instead? (I'm able to provide 6mths of bank statements >500k thb so that isn't a problem)
I've contacted the embassy directly and am waiting for a response, they usually redirect to their website though which doesn't give further info.
I'm currently in Bangkok, so before exiting I want to make sure I've got everything in order for a quick approval.
I'm yet to visit a dentist here in Bangkok, but will do later this week so they can send a summary of the work needed unless simply 'having a confirmed appointment' is enough.
Any input/advice is appreciated. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on applying for a DTV visa under medical treatment for dental procedures at the embassy in Vientiane. They have questions about necessary documentation, the possibility of needing appointments or health assessments, and the appropriateness of the Vientiane embassy for this type of visa application. Comments include various experiences and suggestions relating to documentation required, potential outcomes, and contacts with embassies for clarity on regulations. The user was ultimately successful in their application.
Some successful cases in UK but better to contact with the Embassy before to be sure. Every Embassy has a different policies. Vientiane is getting harder and maybe it has to be hospital and not dentist.
If not, maybe you can try the Muay Thai or other soft option.
I have a Invisalign treatment here too and went to Vientianne before the DTV was out, they gave me a Non-O visa for 1 Year without a problem. But the Officials at the Airport and at Chaengwattana told me the medical treatment is only meant for long Hospital stays and not for dental treatment.
they mean they will GO to the thai consulate in Taipei Taiwan in October and apply for the DTV based on soft power under the medical procedure category by showing they have scheduled teeth whitening appointments with a dentist HERE in thailand 😛
Okay.. now thats nice to know.. so you just say i want to go to Dr ABC at XYZ hospital and as longas its in TH you get a 5y visa .. thats yummy as hell.. whens it decaying
You'll need to make an appointment for the Vientiane embassy and you can do that online via their website and as well you're going to need a written diagnosis and treatment plan from your dentist, make that document look as official as possible on letterhead with seals and the doctors licensing number blah blah blah
I’ve tried to find out how this works if you’re not going for the working remotely. Dental/medical/cooking class etc. Cooking classes could be a one day thing or go on for weeks. I’ve yet to find any information at all online that gives clarity for this particular classification.
