DTV in Kuala Lumpur – 6+ weeks pending Hi everyone, I applied for my DTV in Kuala Lumpur on 3 August 2026. The Embassy requested additional documents on 13 August, which I submitted shortly afterwards. It has now been over 6 weeks and my status is still “Pending Approval”. The Embassy confirmed that my application is currently “under consideration by the Consular Section”. Has anyone recently had a similar experience with a DTV application in Kuala Lumpur? And does anyone have a reliable contact in Kuala Lumpur who might be able to provide some information about the current processing situation? I’d really appreciate any experiences or advice. Thanks!

I applied Beijing July 20 and have been pending since July 27. There’s nothing you can do but wait

KL is one of the worst consulates to apply through in the region. Having to provide further documents can also reset the processing time. Not much you can do but wait if you've already been told its processing

Thanks for the information. I submitted the additional documents on August 13, so I’ve now been waiting another 4 weeks since then, with no further requests or updates. The Embassy only tells me that my application is still under consideration.

So I’m wondering if the processing time really resets after additional documents, because otherwise this is getting pretty frustrating.

Thanks, that would explain the delay. I just hope they don’t reset the processing time every time they request something, because otherwise it can take forever. 😅
