Hello everyone, I applied for a DTV Visa as a Dependent at the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on December 6th and paid the visa fee on December 9th. Although the standard processing time is usually two weeks, it has now been a full month and I haven't received any updates.

If anyone has experience applying for a Dependent Visa in Cambodia, could you please share your timeline or insights?

I have been waiting for two months total since arriving in Cambodia (including prep time), and I recently crossed over to Vietnam to continue waiting there. My agent suggested that I could return to Thailand while waiting for the result, but I am worried, would it be okay to re-enter Thailand while my visa application is still pending?

If anyone has experience returning to Thailand to wait while a visa is being processed, I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you.

I applied for my DTV visa in Cambodia in March of 2025. I sent in all the documents and they emailed me back the next day requesting some updated bank info. I sent in the updated bank info and literally 48 hours later they sent me a email with my approved DTV. So In total it took about 72 from the time I submitted paperwork to getting approved

You are not meant to leave the location served by the consulate you apply at. They can check your passport or even call you in for interview

Cambodia approvals took 4-6 weeks even before the conflict. Some contacted the embassy via social media to get updates on their application.

Does it take that long to get a dependent visa?

It should not be that long for a dependent visa. Have you contacted them via email, social media sites? Entering Thailand while the visa is being processed risks it being rescinded as others have found out. Others have got away with entering Thailand before approval though.

I haven't contacted them yet, I'm worried that something might happen if I contact the embassy.

you just politely ask for an update. Many have done so and then approved soon after. Someone posted what they wrote to get an update, should be in the threads

Where did your spouse get his/her visa? Obviously the Thai embassy in Cambodia has been occupied with other issues
