Hi all.

I've just been placed in quarantine and my visa runs out today. I'm not sure who to report to or what the process from here on out is.

Could someone advise please?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in quarantine with an expiring visa and seeks guidance on how to handle the situation. Comments suggest contacting the quarantine authorities to inform them of the visa issue, as they may assist in obtaining an Extension of Stay. It is critical to act promptly, ideally on the same day as the visa expiration. Recommendations include contacting local immigration offices and seeking assistance from community organizations such as the Bangkok Community Help Foundation.

Get doctors letter from hospital.

You can then organize through power of attorney to get an extension.

The longer you wait the more you have to pay in overstay fines.

Do you have any thai friends? They would be able to call immigration up on your behalf to understand what is needed to get the documents required in place.

This just happened to me, so this is first hand Knowledge.

However the duration of extension you can get is completely up to the immigration officer. I went to the immigration office in Samut Prakan.

Hi Cleo, exact same happened to me a few weeks ago, can you still stay in your hotel to quarantine?

Here is another recent post like yours...

Hi, I came in on visa exempt on 18th and planned to apply for marriage visa.

However I was stuck with Covid and in home isolation and now on the last day of my visa.

Can anyone kindly advise what’s gonna happen and what I can do in this situation?

Thank you very much in advance

Contact
@Greg ******
of the Bangkok Community Help Foundation ASAP. They can help you.

You need to do as

said

Get in touch with Thai Immigration TODAY...

Where have you been placed for quarantine?

@James *******
you have someone go to extend in your behalf for two weeks on your behalf with the PCR report and passport.

You best bet Is to find a isolation hotel which will be much cheaper then telling the front desk and having no choice in the matter.

my quarantine facility sent this to me and said I just need to show this and my PCR result at the airport and I won't have to face any extra charges

NO NO NO...

They must contact Thai immigration TODAY...

YOU WILL BE ON OVRRSTAY

AND FINED 500 Thai baht for each day until you fly out of Thailand...maximum of 20,000 Thai baht.

That MEDICAL CERTIFICATE needs to be taken to Thai Immigration with your passport and entry stamp information...TODAY
@Greg ******
this does not seem correct.

This is the post the OP tried to post yesterday..and was referred to Robert Lagas posted announcement on the forum

"Hi all,

I was going to do a visa run to Cambodia on the 25th (the day my visa runs out) But I think I've got Covid. Waiting to receive my PCR results tomorrow.

If I do have Covid, I obviously have to self-isolate and won't be able to do my visa run.

Does anyone know how to go about this? Who to contact for I guess a temporary visa exemption or something?

Any help is appreciated."

Talk to the people who placed you in quarantine and tell them your immigration status. They can make a letter and collect your passport and fees to apply in your name for an Extension of Stay, but it must be done today.
