What’s happens if you test positive for COVID a few days before your visa is set to expire and your departure flight home? I’m aware you will be quarantined but will they issue you a new visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you test positive for COVID-19 just days before your visa expires and your flight home, you will likely be quarantined. It’s essential to apply for an Extension of Stay based on medical reasons from the hospital managing your quarantine, which typically costs 1,900 THB. If you overstay your visa, fines of 500 THB per day will apply, and you risk being penalized for overstaying. It's possible to encounter challenges at public hospitals when obtaining this extension.

We should not convict others so that ourselves are not convicted. Don't convict them because we may also behave like that in the same situation.

You will request an Extension of Stay Based on Unable to Travel due to Medical Reasons from the hospital that is overseeing your quarantine. Some public hospitals are extremely difficult to acquire this extension of stay from.

The cost is 1,900 THB. The hospital can submit the paperwork on your behalf.

from what i've heard you are simply violated for overstaying your visa and forced to pay the fine.

Craig Murray. It has happened but only through people not knowing the right procedure to follow which is to arrange for your supervising hospital to provide a "can't travel" certificate and getting it delivered to immigration with an application for medical extension
