What should I do if my COVID extension has expired and I don't have a vaccination to do a visa run in Thailand?

Hello everyone

My current visa expired on the 14th and it was the covid extension.

Before covid I had a non-b

I don’t have vaccines so doing a visa run is not really an option

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an expired COVID extension and does not have a vaccination, making a visa run impractical. Community responses indicate that the user is now in an overstay situation and must leave Thailand, as COVID extensions are no longer available. Suggestions include potentially seeking a non-immigrant visa extension before the expiry date or considering travel to countries like India which do not require vaccinations for entry. It is emphasized that waiting until the expiration to seek help limits options significantly.

If unvaccinated, you can travel to India with only a negative pre departure RT PCR test . No quarantine/testing required after arrival.

If you are willing, may be try to get vaccinated in India

Bit late asking for help. You will have to leave the country as you ain't got a visa.

Once you go on overstay you've pretty much removed all of your options. You're going to have to leave. Someone said India isn't requiring testing or vaccination to go, so you could try looking into that. But returning to Thailand is going to be 10 days quarantine.
Burnard ************
Why do you wait until now to ask for help?

Only 2 options, leave and pay a couple weeks overstay, or maybe try and find an agent that can get you an extension. I know there was one in Pattaya that could get anyone a covid extension, unfortunately with you being on overstay they might not even be able to help you.

could you introduce me to them? Might give it a try

Richard I don't know them, saw it posted in the group a couple weeks ago. I'd have to try and find them.

I just came back from Pattaya trying this. 3 different agencies all denied the COVID extension after promising me they could. Apparently immigration changed their rules last week... Even 20k won't get you an extension in Pattaya

Just sharing my experience 😃

So are you on a covid extension or the nonB visa.

Ok thanks for letting us know, we were on pins and needles!
Kevin ***********
Why would you wait until it expires?

I honesty didn’t know they would not extend it further. I work online in UK times so I am out of the loop on these things.

I agree, I got too comfortable with the extension and got blindsided a bit

Any advice though?

@Richard *********
But why wait until it expires anyway? It's been common knowledge that they are being stricter and you just made it harder on yourself.

I went two days before it expired and like I said I didn’t know because I have been out of the loop because I am busy working

Priorities dear boy. Schoolboy error if you ask me.

Your only in-country solution would have been the Elite Visa, but I think you've left your run too late for that. You may have to return to your home country to apply for a Thailand pass, as I don't think any nearby countries are allowed non-vaxxed to enter.

Being you were on a type B visa extension before you got the covid extension you will be required to leave Thailand, unless you can get another non-immigrant visa extension before the 14th. If you go in to immigration they will give you a stamp saying you have seven days to leave Thailand. Only actual tourist visas, or tourist visa exempt stamps can get another covid extension.
Will ************
So if you were on Covid extension and that has expired and you no longer hold a valid visa you are on overstay. You cannot now get a Covid extension so you will have to leave Thailand.

for entry to South Africa

COVID-19 testing requirements

Passengers must present a valid, recognised negative COVID‑19 PCR test certificate for a test taken no more than 72 hours before the date of travel.

All passengers will be screened for COVID‑19 symptoms and will be required to answer any questions required by the health authorities on arrival.

Children below 5 years old are exempted from COVID‑19 PCR testing requirements.

@Will ***********
That doesn’t say you have to be fully vaccinated it says you have to take covid test on arrival. Big difference

@Richard *********
if you have no valid visa/extension then you should hope you don’t get caught because you won’t like the results
Will ************
Entry into South Africa is permitted if unvaccinated . You have no valid excuse.
